WE ARE PRODUCING ORGANIC
In the subtropical climate of Feteira all kind of fruits grow. We have more than 20 different fruits such as bananas, oranges, pineapple, mango, anona, avocado, jackfruit and also a lot of seasonal vegetables. And all year round there are flowers in bloom. The approximately 5000 square meters of our plantation are one of the oldest banana plantation of Feteira. Since 2019 we not only transformed it into a walkable garden but we are also following the standards of EU organic agriculture. The garden is a natural living environment too for numerous animals, birds, insects and other inhabitants. Thanks to our climate, vegetation grows very fast. As a result not only our fruits thrive, but herbs, weed and the hedges, too. As a result you might feel of visiting a jungle with overwhelming greens. Do not worry, we do not have any dangerous animals on Faial. When visiting the garden, please respect nature and the plants. Stay on the pathsways and do not pick fruits or berries. Thank you!
THE FRUITS
The fruits and plants of the plantation were planted in the last years besides the bananas. Some of the trees are fruiting for the first time, some of them have not yet reached the fruiting stage. The fruits are seasonally served for breakfast and also sold in Faial. The ground cover plants, sweet potatos and yam are used to keep the weeds in check. Besides the hedges, the fruit trees and the shrubs are protecting the bananas from the wind.
